Killeavy Underage GAA Programme

11th Mar 2025

I hope this message finds you well. I’m reaching out on behalf of Killeavy GAC as we prepare for the start of our underage season. Our club proudly brings together children from all three primary schools in the area, starting from nursery level, and we’d love your support in spreading the word.

  1. Physical Health and Fitness: GAA sports help children develop strength, coordination, and overall fitness. Through running, jumping, striking, and kicking, they enhance their motor skills, balance, agility, and endurance — all while building lifelong habits for a healthy, active lifestyle.
  2. Teamwork and Social Skills: Being part of a team teaches children how to collaborate, share responsibilities, and support one another. They develop key communication skills, patience, and empathy that benefit them both on and off the pitch.
  3. Building Confidence and Resilience: Success on the field builds self-esteem, while learning from setbacks fosters resilience and the importance of perseverance. Children gain valuable experience in handling pressure, receiving feedback, and staying motivated.
  4. Cultural Connection and Community Spirit: The GAA plays a vital role in Irish culture and community. By participating in our club, children develop a strong sense of local pride and belonging, becoming part of a network of friends and supporters that often lasts a lifetime.
  5. Developing Discipline and Responsibility: Attending training, practicing regularly, and preparing for matches teach children about commitment, time management, and responsibility — both to themselves and their teammates.
