Free School Meals

Dear Parent/Guardian

Our school receives extra funding based on Free School Meal uptake.  If you are entitled to FSM please ensure you have registered with the EA @ https://www.eani.org.uk/financial-help/free-school-meals-uniform-grants. 

This must be done every year.  If you have registered please check your email inbox and junk for status update.  We have been made aware that there is a backlog within EA in processing applications.  We have also been made aware that a number of families who usually are in receipt of FSM have had applications turned down even though circumstances have not changed from previous year.  Unfortunately, until the school receives confirmation from EA of FSM entitlement for this year, parents will have to pay for any school meal taken.  

If the above applies to you, I urge you to make it a priority and check to ensure everything is in order.  

To put in context, a school meal currently costs £2.60 per day.  There are 184 days in this school year which would equate to £478.40 per pupil.  If entitled to a FSM, this is a considerable cost that could be saved.
